Booking

Essential information about booking us

When we aren’t playing music for dancing, we are running our own folk music company, so we appreciate the importance of being professional and reliable. When you book us for your event, you can rest assured that we will be trustworthy, well organised and easy to get hold of.

See below for more details about how we work.

Costs

As a small band, we can keep our costs low without compromising quality. Our standard rate is £460 for up to 3 hours of performing/dancing. This fee includes travel in a 50 mile radius of Newcastle upon Tyne. We are happy to provide a quote for bookings outside this radius. We are happy to discuss discounts for charitable events/fundraisers.

Planning your ceilidh

We’ll be in touch in the run up to the event to confirm all the arrangements. If you have any special requirements, please do let us know and we’ll do our best to help.

Equipment

We will bring all of our own instruments and PA equipment suitable to the room size. We only use high quality systems and all of our equipment is PAT tested,

Band requirements

We require parking for two cars within an easy distance to venue, as we will have equipment to load and unload. In the room itself, we will need a mains power supply near the performance area and a sturdy table on which to put our mixing desk and amplifiers. We also ask that the band are provided with drinks and food (if available).

Setting up and packing away

We will arrive at the venue an hour before the ceilidh is due to start. This allows us time to set up our equipment, conduct a sound check and get ready to play. It takes us around 20 minutes to pack up at the end of the event.

Insurance

We have public liability insurance and can provide copies of insurance certificates on request.

How to make a booking

If you would like to enquire about availability, please contact us to discuss your requirements. If you decide to go ahead and make a booking, you will be asked to complete our booking form and pay a (non refundable) deposit of £100. Your booking is not secure until the deposit is paid and the form is returned. The balance of your fee is due on the night and can be paid in cash or by bank transfer.
